Scrap-A-Stack is Friday, Sept. 10th at 7 PM. Here are the projects we will be completing! As always, there is room for your own creativity in any of these pages - I'll provide the basic supplies, and you can arrange them any way you wish! August Stamp-A-Stack projects!

Stamp-A-Stack is on August 6 at 7 PM. Register to attend by July 30th so I have time to prepare for you.

The class fee is $30 for 12 cards and envelopes. You will make 4 of each of the 3 designs. Pay only $25 if you bring your own adhesive! Save $5 more if you bring a brand new person to stamp with us!

July SCRAP-A-Stack Projects

Scrap-A-Stack is coming soon! July 9, 7 PM in my home. At this SAS you will make 3 different projects, shown below. Cost for this class is $30, or $25 if you bring the adhesive of your choice (I recommend repositionable adhesive for scrapbooking). Please let me know if you are coming by June 30 if possible. Space is limited, so register soon!

The pictures below will give you an idea of what we are doing, but you will be able to arrange your pages to suit your own style and needs. For example, my spring page at the bottom does not have to be an Easter page - that's just what I plan to use mine for!

Important note: The Tea Party designer series paper (DSP) and the Patterns Prints DSP are both retiring as of June 30th. If you love these DSP packs then you need to order some by then! The tropical paper and accessories are all available through the end of August.

Scrap-A-Stack, May 14th

Here are the projects for Friday's SCRAP-A-Stack. This is my very first one, so I'd love to hear what you think. A few details: each page layout shown below can be changed around. In class you will receive all the pieces to make the pages, and you can change up the design to suit your needs - or copy my designs exactly. The stamped parts are also customizable, of course! The first two pages come with two 4-1/2 x 6-1/2 photo mats that you can trim to fit the photos you plan to use. Let me know if you can attend by the end of the day today, Wednesday, May 12. Stampin' Up!'s Color Renovation

As you may have already heard, Stampin' Up! is doing a pretty major renovation of our colors and color families (now called Collections) when the new catalog comes out in July.

Per Stampin' Up! Demonstrator policy, I'm really not at liberty to give many details... yet. I'm aware that some Demonstrators have posted everything on their websites - but I am following policy.

I am more than happy to answer any specific questions you may have for me:

Is my most favorite color "retiring"?
Are any of my favorite older colors returing?

The basics:

30 colors are retiring, from the current 4 color families as well as one neutral
5 brand new colors are coming in!
10 former In Colors are coming back!
Each color collection (there are 4) will have 10 colors each

April Stamp-A-Stack Cards!

This month's Stamp-A-Stack (SAS) is on April 2nd beginning at 6:30 PM, in my home. Class fee is $20 for 12 cards and envelopes, 4 cards of each design. If you cannot make it to SAS but want the cards, then I will complete them for you for $30 (shipping not included). Here are the cards we will be doing:

Father's Day: Using Night of Navy and Soft Suede. Stamp set is Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Elegant Birthday: Using Old Olive with texture plates, and Close to Cocoa, and lovely taffeta ribbon. Stamp set is Vintage Labels from Sale-A-Bration.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I wanted to share this photo of some Valentine's Matchboxes I made for my mom's group friends. These are quick and easy to make, with your Big Shot die cutting machine and the Matchbox die. I filled mine with chocolates. And they are great with any paper for any occasion. One of my customers made adorable matchboxes for a Halloween party, and I'm going to help another friend make these for guests at her daughter's birthday party.

I used assorted Stampin' Up! designer series papers and card stock. The stamp sets I used were Matchbox Messages, Well Scripted, and Teeny Tiny Wishes. And yes, that's my salt shaker in the photo... classy!

In Love With Valentine's Class

January 15, 7 PM, my home in Richardson, Texas. (Click here to email me for directions)

We will make 4 quick and easy Valentine's projects, simple enough to duplicate for your friends, family, or your child's class.

Here are 3 of the 4 projects:

Valentine matchbox - we will fill this with chocolate candies in class!

Sweet scallop square card - so easy and so pretty!

Sweet treat 3x3 card - we will fill the treat cup in class, but I wanted you to see the stamp underneath.

Our fourth project is a really cute flower made using our heart punch. It isn't finished yet - I'll post it when I get it done!

I have room for up to 3 more people for this class - so register today! If there is enough interest then I can open up another class date.

Christmas Gift Card Holders

My sister and I made these fun gift card holders over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, and I wanted to share them! They are REALLY easy to make with card stock, designer series paper, stamps and ribbon. They are all made with the Top Note die and the Big Shot die cutting machine. I've listed "ingredients" below each picture.

Night of Navy and Whisper White card stock. Silver cording. Night of Navy classic ink. Silver Encore ink. Snowflakes are from the Christmas Punch hostess stamp set. The stamp on the front is from Sale-A-Bration last year, a set called Yummy.

Real Red card stock and Christmas Cocoa designer series paper. Real Red grosgrain ribbon. Chocolate Chip classic ink. Yummy stamp set.

Old Olive card stock and Merry Moments designer series paper. Real Red grosgrain ribbon.

Stamp-A-Stack of Christmas Cards!

Friends-

I've had interest in doing Christmas cards for the November 6 Stamp-A-Stack, so I am making that change. For this event you will make 20 cards for $25. I have two cards designed for you to choose from, pictured below. You can make all 20 cards the same, or make 10 of each design. When you arrive, all of the paper will be pre-cut for you. All you have to do is stamp, punch and assemble!

Desgin credit for the navy & silver card belongs to Andrea Lee. Design inspiration for the green/red card belongs to Anne Brown. Thanks ladies!

"Extreme Guitar" - Guest Blogger Card

Today's Guest Blogger is my sister Elaina. She made this card for her teen-aged nephew. Below the photo is her description of what she used to make the card.

"The base of the card is Kraft. The "red and black" paper is really just Real Red card stock that I crumpled up then dragged my Basic Black classic ink pad across. Neat right? First time I can remember crumpling good paper on purpose. I used my spritzer to spritz with Real Red and Basic Black Stampin' Write Markers on Whisper White card stock. Then I stamped the guitar guy (Extreme Guitar, set of 1, $8.95) on top of that. On the other one i stamped off twice in addition to the main image moving over each time. kinda neat maybe i will photo that for you to see too. anyway- the guy is mounted on Basic Black. The mounted image is on dimensionals too. The "you rock" is actually alphabet rub-ons, not a stamp (not Stampin' Up!)."

Remember Shrinky Dinks?

If you are a certain age (like me) then you remember all the fun you had putting plastic shrinky dinks in the oven to make various charms, bookmarks, etc. Well, here is my recent version, with special thanks to my sister for the idea! These photos were taken with my camera phone, so the quality isn't the greatest - but you get the idea at least!

The BEFORE Photo: These images are from the retired stamp set from Stampin' Up! called Baby Firsts. I chose this stamp set because Liam is now 6 months old and I wanted to try to make charms with his "firsts" in mind. This stamp set has 8 stamps in it, but Liam has only done 4 of the 8 "firsts" so far. I'll make the rest later. I've included the actual stamp in the photo for size reference. The stamp is about 2x2 inches.

The AFTER Photo: See the difference? These are perfectly sized for little charms either on a necklace or bracelet.

Special notes: I stamped the images on shrink plastic using Classic Basic Black ink from Stampin' Up! Then, I colored the images with my Stampin' Write Markers. I then punched the images out with my 1 3/4 circle punch, 1 3/8 square punch, and scallop circle punch. Next, I punched the hole in each one using my Crop-A-Dile and attached the ring. Finally, each charm was heated using a heat emboss tool until it was finished shrinking! No more waiting for the oven!

On the back of each charm I plan to write the date that Liam accomplished each "first". I haven't decided whether to wear my charms on a necklace or bracelet, but I know this is something I will LOVE to wear.

I hope you enjoy these! They were fun and easy to make. And now I have personalized charms all about my boy!

Big Shot Class Projects

My Technique Class about using the Big Shot die cutting machine was last night - and we had FUN! I'm posting the projects we made!

Card/Frame using the top note die for the Big Shot. CS: Only Orange & Whisper White. So Saffron DSP. Flight of the Butterfly stamp set.

Card using texture plate for the Big shot. CS: Tempting Turquoise, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White. Rainbow Sherbet DSP. Yes, my stamped message is crooked. I should have used my Stamp-A-Majig! Trendy Trees stamp set.

Box made using the scallop envelope die for the Big Shot. Holds 3x3 cards. CS: Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Whisper White. Washington Apple DSP. Itty Bitty Buds stamp set.

Card Swap

I just made 14 of these last night for a card swap tomorrow. The theme was Father's Day OR Masculine Birthday. My card is a birthday card with the greeting inside. Trendy Trees, Birthday Wish, & Matchbox Messages stamp sets. Paper piercing, brads, stamp-a-majig, and cutter kit were also used. VersaMark, Handsome Hunter & Chocolate Chip classic ink. Card stock is Close to Cocoa, Not Quite Navy (one of my new favs), and Handsome Hunter. I used the Birthday Wish stamp set on the inside in Chocolate Chip, and used the "frame" stamp from Matchbox Messages around it. Thank you stamp-a-majig!

Goal Setting!

I've been thinking lately about how far behind I've become on my personal crafting, specifically SCRAPBOOKING. I tend to spend most of my crafting time working on samples for class projects or swaps. So, I need to set some goals to get my projects completed. Looking at the VAST amount of photographs and/or digital photos I have can be overwhelming - but I know that setting small goals will be the perfect way to accomplish the BIG projects.

One plan of attack I have is to schedule a Craft Night once a month. These are open to anyone who wishes to attend and there is no fee. Don't we all need a little dedicated time to get things done? Come on over to my craft area with your project supplies - and use any of my tools that you need to use to complete your project. I have tons of punches, stamps, and other tools for your use. I'll post the dates for these Craft Nights on this site as well as my Stampin' Up! website, and you will need to RSVP so that I know how many people to plan for.

My second plan is to find at least one 2-hour block of time each week to work towards my scrapping goals. While I would LOVE for that to be a specific time each week for planning purposes, that is easier said than done with a 5-month old at home! So, for the short term I plan to just take the time when I can get it!

Beginning Stamp Class starts TONIGHT!

All NEW Stamp Sets Will Be Die-Cut!

In the upcoming Fall-Winter 2008 Idea Book & Catalog, every brand new stamp set will be die-cut, saving you time trimming them so you can stamp even faster. The sets that are carried over (and dormant sets) will still need to be trimmed before mounting. To make it easy for you, the new die-cut sets will all be marked with a die-cut icon in the catalog - so you will know what you are getting.

Remember, the new catalog comes out next month - August 12th!

Product Spotlight - Hodgepodge Hardware

Seasoned scrapbookers and stampers know how fun it is to add "hardware" to your projects. Hardware, to me, is any metal embellishment that you can add to your scrapbook pages or cards. Hardware can add a unique and beautiful accent to your handmade items.

You can get many different colors and styles of brads and eyelets in our catalog. But some of the hardware we offer is only available in our Hodgepodge Hardware kits (p188, $27.95). The 3 kits in the Spring-Summer Collection 2008 are available in Aged Copper, Antique Brass, and Pewter. And right now in the current Occasions Mini Catalog you can get a special set called Styled Silver (p7, $29.95) - and it's gorgeous! Each kit comes with 100 or more embellishments AND 100 coordinating brads.

Here are a few samples using Hodgepodge Hardware:

My sister made this card using a ribbon-slide from the Styled Silver kit.

This card uses the large oval embellishment in Pewter - which coordinates with the Large Oval Punch (p180, $15.95)

Stampin' Up! to Increase Minimum Shipping Cost

Dear Friends-

I want to make you all aware of a change coming soon to Stampin' Up! Because of many factors involving the costs of doing business, Stampin' Up! is increasing the minimum shipping cost for customer orders. This change will go into effect on April 1, 2008. The new minimum shipping cost will be $6.95 after that date.

All workshop orders as well as customer orders over $69.50 will continue to be only 10% of your merchandise total. This shipping increase only effects customer orders up to $69.50.

If you are thinking of placing an order that would be effected by this change then I encourage you to do so by March 31, 2008. Please contact me with any questions you may have about this shipping cost change, and certainly contact me if you need to place an order.

The rub-ons that Stampin' Up! offers coordinate with the stamp sets and designer series paper we offer, too. What is a Stamp Club?

What is a Stamp Club, exactly? It's a small group which gets together once a month to learn techniques and create projects AND slowly grow their stamp & accessory collection. Here is how it works:

For a Stampin' Up! order to reach "workshop" status it has to reach $150 in merchandise. So in a Stamp Club members evenly split that amount each month and take turns receiving the hostess benefits. If a Stamp Club has 6 members each person would order at least $25 in merchandise each month. Susie Stamper is the first month's hostess so she receives the free hostess stamp set and the $15 in free merchandise. The next month it's Elaine Embellishment's turn to be hostess so she receives the goodies. When you are the hostess you can also take outside orders from friends, family, and coworkers so that you can receive even more free stuff!

If you join a Stamp Club with 6 members you commit to that club for 6 months at $25 each month. If you join one with 8 members you commit to that club for 8 months at $18.75 each month. Each month I will plan 2-4 projects for you and host the Stamp Club in my home so that you don't have to do anything but order your merchandise.

Editted to add: Your Stamp Club could be a Scrapbooking Club. The focus of the club can be whatever the members want it to be!

Stampin' Scrub & Mist

When I attended my first Stampin' Up! workshop I was impressed by the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist stamp cleaning products - but not enough to buy them. After all, I was just a scrapbooker at that point who occasionally used stamps on my pages. What I didn't realize then was I would probably use my stamps a bunch more if I'd had an easy way to clean them.

When I became a demonstrator and received the Stampin' Scrub & Stampin' Mist in my starter kit I realized what I had been missing! I like to tell people that it changed my life - and from a stamping standpoint it really did.

It couldn't be easier to clean your stamps using these products. The Stampin' Scrub is double-sided; on one side you spray your Stampin' Mist then rub your stamp on it and on the other side you dry your stamp. You are immediately ready to stamp again! Sure, you can use a baby wipe or paper towel to clean your stamps, but that takes longer. And the Stampin' Mist has a conditioner in it that is good for the rubber on your stamps.
